British Summer Time 2019 : Barbara Striesand, Hyde Park, London (GB) - 7 juil. 2019

My mother (G-d rest her soul) absolutely worshipped Barbara Streisand. In 2007, a year before she died, I forfilled a lifetime wish to send my Mum and Dad to see a Streisand concert. I couldn’t afford to send them to the States, but thankfully, Streisand came to London. Despite being a man of hard rock and heavy metal, even I have always acknowledged that her voice is probably one of the greatest ever and there are a handful of songs I am happy to listen to. I actually bought the tickets to re-sell. When I failed in this endeavour, I decided that in honour of mum, I was more than happy to go with the wife and I’m more than glad I did. Even at 77 years old, Streisand is a remarkable singer! Add to that, guest appearances from Kris Kristofferson and Lionel Richie, a lovely night! We only turned up in time for her set as the only other act I was interested in was Bryan Ferry, but the wife didn’t want to be standing for more than 4 hours. Me neither for that matter!
