Can’t recall Del Amitri at all. They would have been Justin Currie bs guitar/vocal, Iain Harvie guitar, David Cummings guitar, Andy Alston keyboards, Brian McDermott drums. The wonderful Neville Brothers, from New Orleans, brought their soul/r&b/funk on the back of their album Yellow Moon, with the songs Sister Rosa, Sam Cooke’s A Change Is Gonna Come,Yellow Moon itself, Tell It Like It Is, My Blood, Brother John, Iko Iko, Big Chief, Fire on the Bayou, Little Richard’s Rip It Up and Long Tall Sally, Amazing Grace, One Love. They were: Aaron Neville vocal/percussion, Art Neville keyboards/vocal, Charles Neville alto/tenor saxophone/percussion/vocal, Cyrille Neville vocal/percussion, Brian Stoltz guitar/percussion/ vocal, Tony Hall bass guitar/percussion/vocal, Willie Green drums/percussion. Though eclectic, the choice of songs reflected political/social commitment and throughout there was a leavening of the distinctive New Orleans sound, rhythms, chanting, voodoo sensibility. And the great wobbly soul singing of Aaron Neville. Allegedly they had as a guest the actor John Goodman who played cowbell during the encores. This gig was reviewed by Stewart Allison in Blues & Rhythm 48, Christmas 1989.
