They opened for the Jazz Messengers, another fiery version of this famous band, driven by the great drumming of its leader: Terence Blanchard trumpet, Donald Harrison alto sax, Jean Toussaint tenor sax, Mulgrew Miller piano, Lonnie Plaxico double bass, Art Blakey drums. Classic hard bop, modern jazz.
