Listening to these guitar (and some banjo) instrumentals, I heard pieces inspired in the main by American music of the first few decades of the last century, chiefly mountain music with some blues-inflected stuff (with slide). And ragtime too – she did, I think, play Sylvester Weaver’s Guitar Rag along with the self-composed pieces. I’m not very fond of solo instrumentals but this was virtuoso playing, a bit relentless at times, but great stuff.
