Alex Hitchcock Quintet, Royal Festival Hall, London (GB) - 5 avr. 2019

The band were James Copus trumpet/flugelhorn, Alex Hitchcock tenor sax, Will Barry piano, Joe Downard double bass and Jay Davis drums. The set opened with Wayne Shorter’s Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum and the rest were mainly Hitchcock compositions. An enjoyable enough set, firmly based in 60s modern jazz, with a bit of rhythmic variety. Very impressed by the pianist.
