National Jazz Archive Fundraiser : Simon Spillett Quartet, Loughton Methodist Church, London (GB) - 15 févr. 2020

The musicians were: Spillett tenor sax, Rob Barron piano, Alec Dankworth double bass and Clark Tracey drums. The performance was a celebration of the work of Tubby Hayes and consisted of numbers written and/or played by Tubby interspersed with anecdotes from Spillett. The setlist included Alone Together (Schwartz & Dietz), Opus Ocean (Clark Terry), Seven Steps to Heaven (Victor Feldman), Nobody Else but Me (Jerome Kern), Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most (Landesman & Wolf) and Grits, Beans and Greens, Souriya, and Off the Wagon (Hayes). Extremely competent and professional musicians who do their best for the audience.
