Drywall is a type of wall construction composed from thin sheets of Gypsum (a kind of mineral) and its main construction material. The gypsum board is coated with a mix of water and solvents. This permits it to be cut easily, drilled and sanded. The drywall panels are put together using special fasteners which allow them to be affixed to wall studs or joists without the use of any nails or screws.
