Summer Sanitarium Tour : Metallica, Kentucky Speedway, Sparta (US) - Jul 8, 2000

Metallica performed without James Hetfield, who had been injured two days before in a jet-ski accident. The band opted to play with Jason Newstead handling most of the vocal duties. The other acts also provided vocals for select songs.

This was an awesome festival for sure & unique with the absence of James Hatfield & his broken leg. But it all worked out great as other bands help sing there set list. First ever concert at Sparta and it was a good festival to start off with. That was so long ago and of course no cameras on phones then so I really wish there was a platform by the event that made random pics. I say this because me & my best friend was always keeping the road hot going to concerts anywhere we wanted to attend. If anyone has any pics of this shoe which we were standing in the pit 20 feet from center of the stage. I'd pay anyone who has pics showing the crowd in front of the stage a nice fee for any that we could be seen in after observing them. This show meant alot to me & it does more than ever now in 2023. 5 months after the show I got really sick all of a sudden and it took over my life immediately and so our concert events went to virtually none for 2 years while I was trying to get well. Finally I was well enough to attend 2 or 3 shows over a year span. But a couple months later my best friend & concert partner was sadly killed in a car wreck along with a family member of mine so they whole world stopped for myself and alot of ppl. Thats why im asking for any help finding pics because I'd give anything just to find 1. But I want to thank Sparta Ky & all the bands that gave us a great day & night when little did we know both our lives were about to change.
