National Jazz Archive Fundraiser : Trio Manouche with Pete Horsfall, Loughton Methodist Church, London (GB) - Jun 24, 2017

Trio Manouche are Simon Harris guitar/vocal, Ducato Piotrowski guitar, Davide Mantovani double bass. Horsfall played trumpet. The music was billed as Gypsy Jazz and indeed it evoked Django Reinhardt and his fellow musicians of the 1930s into the 1940s. A pleasurable session with excellent guitar playing and the trumpet was quite good too, especially when using the mute. They played I'll See You in My Dreams, Blue Drag, Sheik of Araby, Caravan, All of Me, Djangology, Americano, After You've Gone. Two of these numbers - Blue Drag and After You've Gone - were played by Man Overboard Quintet the other day: bands similar in style and similar in repertoire.
