The Face the Music tour. The first time I had ever seen lasers at a show. 'Just stare into them', Jeff Lynne told us. A gallant attempt to incorporate strings in a rock band and it was a great show. I still tend towards Cozy Powell's viewpoint on cellos - 'I told Ritchie that if he ever brought that thing into the studio again, I'd put my boot through it.'
