By now very familiar, Duke Ellington began with his ‘love you madly’ routine and then the band launched into Take The A Train, its signature tune. Much the same personnel as before: Cat Anderson, Herbie Jones, Cootie Williams, Mercer Ellington, trumpets, no Nance this time, Lawrence Brown, Buster Cooper, Chuck Connors, trombones, Johnny Hodges alto/soprano sax, Russell Procope alto sax/clarinet, Jimmy Hamilton tenor sax/clarinet, Paul Gonsalves tenor sax, Harry Carney baritone sax/bass clarinet, Duke Ellington piano, John Lamb double bass, Rufus Jones drums.
