Film legend MICKEY ROONEY could not stop working; his career lasted almost 90 years (he began making films in 1926 as a five-year-old), and he continued working almost to his dying day in 2014. In 2007, age 87, he undertook a UK tour in which he celebrated his life and career, and for a time during the performance, he gave the stage over to his wife of 35 years, Jan Rooney, a country singer.

As a film buff, I was absolutely floored seeing Rooney in the flesh, talking about his years at MGM, and in particular, the films he made with the incomparable JUDY GARLAND, between around 1938 and 1942. Incredible, absolutely incredible. Rooney died five years ago, and I still wish he would tour again. x
