Out to Lunch : Sophie Alloway Quartet ft Mornington Lockett, Cadogan Hall, Sloane Square, London (GB) - Aug 3, 2023

Alloway played drums, Lockett tenor saxophone, Will Barry piano and Flo Moore bass guitar. They played a set of modern jazz standards, the composers including Chick Corea, Kenny Barron, Pat Metheny, Horace Silver, John Scofield and Herbie Hancock. Clearly every musician was really proficient; for me Lockett’s creative playing stood out. I found the drumming sometimes rather full-on but then she was the leader of the band.
